The September Rey Azteca Student of the Month is Jonas Ma, who is a Sophomore at the Delaware County Christian School (DC) and received a Certificate of Achievement and a $25 gift card from Rey Azteca, our Sponsor of this program.
Jonas is involved in various activities at school, one of the most prominent being athletics. He plays soccer in the Fall and runs track in the Spring. Last year, Jonas made the varsity team for soccer as a freshman, which is quite an accomplishment.
In school, Jonas holds several leadership positions, including his grade’s Class Culture Officer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the school’s student-run Spirit wear store – the Armory. As CFO, Jonas oversees, manages and reports all of the Armory’s financial information so that smart decisions can be made to improve the income of the business. He also makes sure that products are reasonably priced and affordable for students and their families.
Jonas has been involved in Robotics at DC for four years, although he plans on running indoor track this winter instead. As if all of that isn’t enough to keep a 10th grader busy, Jonas is also taking yearbook for the third year as an elective.
While regularly attending the Chinese Christian Church and Center (C4), Jonas is part of the church’s Joy Fellowship group, a youth group that’s for students in 7th-12th grades. One Sunday a month, Joy members serve as a hospitality team during the service to greet and welcome all those who attend. This helps to build community by having younger church members serve.
Jonas wants to travel the world and experience a lot of different cultures while working with and helping others, which would be his main motivation for traveling. While he’s not exactly sure where he sees himself in ten years, he thinks it might involve serving people around the world.
Know a terrific teen who should be our next Student of the Month?

Submit your nomination, highlighting what makes them so amazing, to LJeffries@BestVersionMedia.com. Academic or athletic excellence is not required.
