Congratulations, Kira!

Newtown Edgmont Friends & Neighbors, March 2026

We are proud to recognize Kira Minnock, a junior at Penncrest High School, as the March Rey Azteca Student of the Month. Kira exemplifies academic excellence, leadership and a genuine commitment to serving others.

Academically, Kira is thriving in a rigorous course load that includes multiple honors classes and three Advanced Placement courses, all while maintaining an impressive 4.0 GPA. She’s a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Honor Society and the World Language Honor Society, reflecting both her intellectual curiosity and her strong work ethic across disciplines.

Kira is deeply involved in service and leadership. She serves as secretary on the teen board of Girls Spark, an organization dedicated to empowering young women. Through this role, she has volunteered her time at numerous outreach and fundraising events and played an active part in the organization’s annual summit each May. Her passion for helping others also extends into healthcare-related service, as she has volunteered at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and at diabetes camps in both the United States and Montenegro.

Kira is equally committed to athletics, competing on Penncrest’s soccer and track teams. She has been playing soccer since the age of three, demonstrating years of dedication, discipline and teamwork.

Looking ahead, Kira hopes to participate in Penncrest’s dual enrollment program with Delaware County Technical School during her senior year, focusing on the Medical Career Program. Her long-term goal is to attend a four-year college and major in nursing, where she can combine her academic strengths, compassion and service-driven mindset into a meaningful career helping others. Kira, you are simply AMAZING!
