Student of the Month: Congratulations Saudre!

Newtown Edgmont Friends & Neighbors, December 2024

The December Rey Azteca Student of the Month is Saudre Thole, a Junior at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, who was honored with a Certificate of Achievement and a Gift Card from Rey Azteca, the Sponsor of this program, in recognition of her exceptional commitment to school, community and personal growth.

Saudre was diagnosed with ADHD in 7th grade but after creating a structured management plan, she effectively manages her ADHD challenges while excelling in her studies and extracurricular activities.

Her school and community-related activities include Meals for Many, St. Francis Inn, Soup Kitchen, Script Captain/Spirit Week, NDA Travel Programs, Media Soup Kitchen, Coat Drive, volunteer work at Providence Animal Shelter and she is a Member of PETA.

As a member of Nativity BVM church in Media, Saudre participated in the parish Appalachia mission trip this past June in New Castle, PA. She assisted with the demolition and new construction of a deck on the home of an elderly person with Alzheimer’s disease.

Academically, Saudre is in AP Math and Science classes, and enjoys learning Spanish. In fact, she went on a school trip to Costa Rica using her Spanish and connecting with the local community, both spiritually and culturally. She was also selected from a large group of applicants for an educational school trip to Iceland in 2025 with 13 other girls.

Saudre has participated in a wide variety of sports since elementary school, including basketball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, track, tennis and paddle and at Notre Dame she has participated in lacrosse, paddle, tennis and track. She loves music and the performing arts and participated for several years in Media Theatre productions. She has very eclectic taste in music, no genre is off the table, and currently loves playing guitar, which she taught herself. What an incredible life you’re living Saudre, thank you for sharing with us!
