We are proud to recognize Will Martin, an incoming senior at Penncrest High School, as the August Rey Azteca Student of the Month!
Will has excelled in the classroom, maintaining a remarkable 4.2 GPA while taking seven AP courses. He has earned Distinguished Honor Roll recognition all 12 marking periods and received Academic Excellence Awards in both 10th and 11th grades. His leadership roles include serving as Class Council Treasurer for three years and Treasurer of the Math Honor Society. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society and the World Language Honor Society.
Committed to giving back, Will volunteers at the Media Food Bank, tutors students in all subjects at Springton Lake Middle School and participates in Edgmont Township Community Service Days. He is also active in several school organizations, including For the Vision Club, Play It Forward Club, Penncrest vs. Cancer Club, Salute to Service Club and Physics Olympics Club.
On the athletic side, Will has distinguished himself in lacrosse. He played JV as a freshman and sophomore, serving as captain in 10th grade, and has been a varsity player since his sophomore year. He has competed with the Rough Riders Club Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Regional Team. This year, he helped lead Penncrest to a District Championship and a State Runner-Up finish.
Looking ahead, Will plans to attend a strong academic college and major in mathematics with a concentration in actuarial science. His ultimate goal is to become the head actuary at a financial institution.
Will, your dedication, leadership and drive are truly inspiring. We look forward to watching all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
