Congratulations William!

Newtown Edgmont Friends & Neighbors, April 2026

We are proud to recognize William Gobran, a senior at Episcopal Academy, as the April Rey Azteca Student of the Month, for his impressive achievements and well-rounded involvement both in and out of the classroom.

A dedicated student-athlete, William competes in squash and has played varsity tennis, demonstrating not only athletic ability but also the discipline, perseverance and teamwork that come with competing at a high level.

Beyond athletics, William participates in the Model United Nations, where he sharpens his skills in diplomacy and global awareness. He is also a member of the debate club, further strengthening his analytical thinking and public speaking abilities. In addition, William takes part in the weightlifting club, underscoring his commitment to personal growth and physical fitness.

William’s dedication extends well beyond school grounds. Since his freshman year, he has volunteered at the Delaware County Food Bank, consistently giving his time to support families in need. He has also worked as a lifeguard for the past three years, a role that requires responsibility, vigilance and leadership.

Looking ahead to college this fall, William is thoughtfully considering his path. “I do not know whether I want to take the pre-med or business route,” he shared. “I am drawn to pre-med because I want the ability to directly impact another person’s life, but I am also interested in the innovation aspect of business.” His reflection highlights both his compassion and his entrepreneurial spirit.
William, your diverse interests, strong work ethic and commitment to service set you apart. We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
