A fun day was had by all at the first annual Edgmont Community Day that was held on Saturday, September 10th. Visitors to Arasapha Farm enjoyed music, games, visiting the animals at the petting zoo, face painting, axe throwing and pony rides.
The Edgmont Township Board of Supervisors worked with community members, local business owners and government officials to bring this event to life. Neil Vaughn is Edgmont’s Township Manager and Zoning Officer. “Our goal is to enhance the sense of community within Edgmont Township and this includes community events,” said Neil. “Our first event was an Easter Egg Hunt in the spring and the feedback was amazing. We continued the momentum with this community day and look forward to it becoming an annual event.”
There was something for everyone on the 80-acre farm located on Middletown Rd in Glen Mills. Local craft vendors sold their handmade jewelry, bags, seasonal decorations and candles. Sweet treats and good eats were provided by the area’s top food trucks and restaurants, and DJ Corey Curtin kept the mood fun and festive with some great music.
Newtown Edgmont Friends & Neighbors magazine’s mission is Bringing People Together, and highlighting this event is the perfect way to kick off our inaugural issue!
